Cacti SNMPAgent - v0.2.3 (released 28/Oct/15)

Hi,

My intention is using "SnmpAgent" for specific traps receiving. Besides snmp configuration what else is needed to have set up on cacti?

I'd rather thinking of an "Advanced Cacti" guide which deals with these things and goes into more details of Autom8, Thold and of course Weathermap.
Even for a Beginners guide the book probably goes way to deep into some of the Cacti internals.

Maybe I just create short e-books for each of these instead of a complete book. Not sure yet.


Now coming back to the question asked. Snmpagent doesn't receive SNMP Traps, but only sends them out. So you will have to use a plugin called CAMM which can receive and handle SNMP traps ( and syslog .. ). Though that's (not yet) Cacti 1.x compatible.

A customer of mine is using that plugin and already asked for a Cacti 1.x version so that one will be (freely) available at some point this year ...

But anyhow "camm" is not able to send email notification or received trap?
I would like to cacti server sends email notification on received traps. Current Cacti version is 0.8.8 b.
