I removed the dot but it didn't make any difference.

Just uploaded the nmidCiscoWorks addon ( you'll need the nmid base plugin for it to work )

It's from 2008 and I haven't run it since then, so feel free to give it a try and provide some feedback.

hello friends!

some problems i am facing in understanding and installation of this plugin.

1) Does it uses the hosts already added in CACTI to draw smokeping graphs?? or can i add hosts independent of cacti devices???

2) i tried installing it.. but it messed up my existing graph tree. Wether i click on GRAPH tab or NMID tab. it just take me to page saying
Network Management Inventory Database (NMID)
Please select an entry from the menu to the left.
can someone tell me whats wrong here??

1) It creates a smokeping target section containing the devices you add from Cacti. It therefore

Thanks so much for your quick response. I am stuck on Webservices usage section 4.4.4 on the manual - where this code should be saved and placed? I got this error on the browser I think related to this not properly set "Fatal error: Class 'SoapServer' not found in /opt/cacti/plugins/nmidWebService/webservice.php on line 21" any idea. thanks again.

now that sounds like you need to install the php-soap module on your system.

Thanks for your response. you are correct, I have just installed the module, and appears the base NMID working. but I didn't see "nmidCiscoWorks" option or Tab. I think the question is where I should place the php script on 3.4.4USAGE (on user manual) ?. I have added the nmidCiscoWorks on plugins and on plugins management show it's running. but there is no tab on Configuration setting. simply no Cw related tab. can you give some instruction how I can do things on the last step on user manual and some step byond at least example to initial setup for CW import. thanks a lot.

Download this file and replace the eixsting nmidCiscoWorks plugin ( I fixed a small bug there ):
http://redmine.nmid-plugins.de/attachme ... oWorks.tgz

Then go to "configure devices" from the NMID section in the Cacti console.

You can then "add" devices to the CiscoWorks export file.
After hitting on "Save", you will be able to see a file named "ciscoworks_config.txt" in the ../plugins/nmid" directory, which is a DCRCSV Version 3.0 file which can be imported into CiscoWorks.

There's nothing else which this plugin does ...

thanks a lot for your response. I think everything working but the question I have may be I should ask first. so this plug- ins use for export devices from Cacti to CW or other way around? CW all discovery method and I thought something can import from CW to Cacti. what is the benefit of exporting from Cacti? simply what's the objective of the plugins? again thanks for your time and effort.

The objective in 2008 was to add devices to one management system and export these devices to other systems. Nothing more and nothing less.

You can do it the other way by using the existing Cacti CLI which allows for adding devices programmatically.
