This episode with Malik Carter was inspiring! Malik is a realtor, developer, investor and coach. The farm his mother was raised on and land his father's family has owned since the civil war are still in his family. At an early age he was able to understand the power of ownership.

After starting over in 2008, he purchased a property, put 8 bedrooms in it and rented it by room. Things didn't workout with that property, so he decided to sell and move on. From there he continued buying properties and was able to identify an area that was on the path of growth which helped him to grow his portfolio. Eventually Malik started to buy land for development and new construction in Philly and North Carolina.

In this episode, we discussed how Philly real estate has changed, how new construction works, future plans and more.

Highlights
1) Don't underestimate ownership because it gives you a voice and power in what happens in the community

2) New construction can be advantageous because of what the property will be valued at when it's complete. Make sure you know what you're doing before you get into it.

3) Philly is a great market to invest in and there are 50,000 well paying jobs coming in the next 24 months. Philly is also a leader in biotech as well.
