Ha! I woudn't have thought to cut the decorative strip in half and use it like you did. This class has been worth every penny (figuratively speaking).

I will admit that I was shocked to see the size of the yellow flocked lace after I opened it! And the color was a bit off in mine, although I may have just gotten a bad batch. I decided not to use it on these cards except for a tiny bit on this one. I think it is much better suited to layouts!

- Cut the original card base in half at the score line.
- Trim the house patterned paper to 3 3/4" x 4 3/4" and adhere to the green card back.
- Cut a 5" x 8" piece of coordinating cardstock, fold in half and adhere the card front.
- Trim a strip of the yellow flocked lace so you have the dashed part. Adhere to the right side as shown.
- Layer the black strip on top of the yellow flocked lace.
- Adhere the yellow scalloped strip to the top of the card.
- Add the white flower with a pearl and then the provided "hello" chipboard as shown.
- Use foam tape to layer the flower chipboard on top.

There's a little bit of everything on this one!

- Stitch a border around the green triangle patterned paper and adhere it to the card front.
- Cut a 5" length of the red flocked lace in half like we did for the previous card and adhere it to the back of the "thanks" strip.
- Adhere the entire "thanks" strip to the card front as shown.
- Add the provided chipboard circle, a flower, and a pearl.
- Add extra chipboard corners instead of the brads.

I didn't have too many options with this one if i wanted to stick to the simple red and white color scheme (and I did) so I added just a few extra touches to the original design for texture.

- Cut the original card base in half at the score line.
- Trim the white side to 3 1/4" x 8 1/4".
- Stitch a border around the white paper and adhere it to the red "back" side.
- Cut a 7" x 8 1/2" piece of coordinating cardstock, fold in half and adhere the card front.
- Add the red strip.
- Add four red brads to the corners of the "love you forever" strip and add to the card front.
- Adhere the provided chipboard hearts and three white flowers.

By now you pretty much have my number on these! There's more inking here, plus extra chipboard and lace.

- You previously cut this card in half so you could use the black paper for another card so you should already have only half a card. Ink this piece.
- Cut a 7" x 10" piece of coordinating cardstock, fold in half and adhere the black paper. Ink the entire card.
- Ink and adhere the green paper to the front as shown.
- Ink the black strip and adhere to the card front and back.
- Add the extra bracket chipboard FIRST, then use foam tape to layer the provided "hi" chipboard. (Ink these first)
- Tie a small bow with the black lace and adhere tot he bracket chipboard as shown.
- Add four green brads as shown.
- Ink and add two extra green chipboard corners as shown.

You can see that I used the same techniques over and over to take these cards to the next level. A little bit of stitching or inking really gives the card more depth and adding elements like flowers, foam tape, bling, or ribbon adds texture that the flat pieces from the manufacturer just don't have. Card kits make cards fast and easy but it takes very little time and effort to take them further on your own. Now instead of seeing just the popped out die cuts provided in the kit your recipients will see the extra care and thought you put into what you've sent them!

I hope you liked the changes I made to these cards and see them as improvements!

And that's pretty much it, folks. This was more of a quick tutorial than a full on class but hopefully it was useful to you anyway!

Meaning that I would have paid for this. Also - meaning that this class will actually save me money. You see, I would have used 2 whole strips instead of one cut in half. I think you are brilliant.

Oh, Jess I just now had time to go through the class! I loved it!!! I made my first card using a different WRMK Kit, but I just have to add the Happy Father's Day to the inside for my husband's card! Thank you so much for putting this class together for us!
