Winners! SweetSour’s iNSD Challenge #2 –Patterned Paper still open

Post by sweetsour »

Reminder ~ this challenge is now closed for iNSD sprinkles and point awards, but open until the end of May for a $5 GC among all participants ~ yes can win twice!
Am also changing the no combining and only 1 entry rule.  You can now combine with any May board challenge that allows it and enter again.
Let's use up that UGLY paper!

iNSD points winners as follows:
random.org # 5 = Karen C. for 600 points
1st entrant = lissahope26 for 25 points
All entrants = 30 points (unless missed the rules)

contributing ugly ppr evn tho didn't do a LO lol = tms58 5 points
contributing positivity for other's work = Machmuses & Lizzi97 for 5 points
contributing ideas to the challenge = MTCanuck & Art_Teacher for 5 points

entering all 3 of my iNSD challenges = blbabe1234, lissahope26, Art_Teacher, emmapaige for 100 points

This year I’ve been hosting the Patterned Paper challenge,  in which you choose at least 5 pretty papers to add on a project.  It seems to be pretty popular. So I am just going to change it up a bit for iNSD and ask you to get creative with your UGLY papers!  :greensleeping:
I am sure like me, you buy kits or pads and not all the papers are pretty and/or immediately relatable to your tastes…

So I would like  to see you to dig deep in the stash and find at least 2 pieces of UGLY paper and get creative to use them up!  (1 should be at least 12" wide or long by any other size, and the 2nd at least 6" wide or long by any other size)

Note:  Please post before pix of your chosen papers and the LO you make in the thread.
You CAN colour, paint, stencil, ink all over them to totally disguise the patterns if you want.

You can also use whatever else you need to make the page work for you.

Due in the iNSD gallery by midnight Saturday May 11 for iNSD and sprinkles, and I'm also going to keep it open as my May Patterned Paper challenge also, one winner from all will receive a $5 GC.

 Fine Print:
  1. Have Fun!
  2. Open to layouts only please, paper or digi.
  3. No combining with other challenges. No longer applies after May 11.
  4. Enter once only please.  No longer applies after May 11.
  5. Due midnight Saturday May 11th in iNSD gallery, as we have until Sunday night to award all points.   All entrants were sprinkled and one random winner showered.
  6. After that, this will still be open till midnight May 31, post in thread for a $5 GC from me.

Here are my "uglies".  Believe me they look worse in person.  They are from a kit bundle I got from S.E.I. a few years ago.  I love the journal card but the papers...Love the gesso idea.

Here are my papers. Not TRUE UGLY, but super busy. I've already got plans for them!

And this is what I created

Used a cut file for the brown pumpkin paper, and a very thin strip as part of a border of the bold floral print one.

Good choices so far!  I agree not necessary ugly (and no offense intended to the designers of them either!) Just a matter of personal taste and style!

I did this a while back with a paper I hated. Used a cut file with the Silhouette and made it very tolerable!

Went back into my files and dug up the layout that I did this on.

If noting else, this challenge has helped me discover that I do not like stripes or plaids. I have a good many that I never use. I pulled about 8 sheets of 'uglies' and selected these to try to make a layout with.

This was my paper.  It is an older Basic Grey(2011) I love the colours, but way too busy for me.  Not sure why I ever bought it, except it might have come with some others!!!
I used it for a cut file and it looks fabulous now!

Wow...This is going to be fun!  Not a fan of stripes, alphas all over it, and geometric shapes and paisley...And I have plenty of it all.
Hope to get one out for this challenge!

I'm going to attempt to use these papers from 2008.  Wow has my taste changed in the last 11 years!

Image

I'm back with the layout I did using those two papers. My solution for the ugly papers was to cut them into 4x4 pieces and cover most of them with pictures of a cute kid (my grandson, Cole). LOL!!
