ProgressiveChallenge participants - READ THIS

Post by traveler »

As some of you know, I have been really accommodating about people who ask for changes because they made a mistake or they don't own something, using white ink instead of black because it wouldn't show up on the background and stuff like that. Most of these changes people asked and I said yes because, even though this challenge is about following directions without knowing what is coming next, it is also about having fun and creating a layout you actually like.

However, in step 3, it tells you to cut some rectangles. Rectangles have 4 sides and right angle corners. I was good at high school geometry.  Rectangles do not have fishtail flags, nor do they have pointy corners. When one person did this, I was going to let it slide, but now many of you have done this. People asked if they could mat the rectangles and I said yes (especially since they are still rectangles, but no one asked about the fishtails until last night.

I don't want to disqualify so many people or discount your work, especially since a lot of it is very beautiful, but I do want to reward the people who followed directions correctly. So this is what is going to happen:

I have a lot of sprinkles left which I was saving to give people who completed all the steps on time. Instead those sprinkles will be rewarded to people who completed step 3 correctly.  I will be giving out them out tomorrow or Thursday to people who completed step 3 correctly so you have time to fix yours, if you choose to. If you followed directions, then you don't need to do anything.

Step 4 will show up tonight or early tomorrow.

A few of you plan to make changes so I will wait and post step 4 tomorrow morning. Step 4 will have until the 17th so there is plenty of time for that one.

I had every intention of squaring off my fish tails but lots of bad and one good thing happened today so I’m going to leave my layout as is. If I don’t win sprinkles or a prize, I like my layout as it is. I promise to pay more attention next time. Thanks for the fun challenge, Louise.

I’m glad you like your layout and you will still be eligible for prizes. Sorry about the bad things.

I really appreciate this, because being a teacher, I also want people to read the directions and follow the rules.  I know how hard it is to communicate all of those directions and I love this challenge! Thanks for everything you are doing!

Oh my goodness, I wasn't even thinking.  I cut rectangles and then added cuts to make fishtales without even realizing that changed it from a rectangle!  I changed mine and uploaded the new page.  so sorry
Retired, scrapping and happy!
