While focussing on nuanced response to velocity and aftertouch for the seasoned keyboardist, Sugar & Spice also offers more dramatic morphing via the XY Pads – you will find over 100 examples in the XY Showcase folders.

Sugar & Spice unfolds in two parts: Sugar by the multi-talented Michael Cavallo, and Spice by u-he’s own Howard Scarr. The combined effort infuses this soundset with a wider variety of sonic flavours, tying into a tradition started by the Hive Science soundsets and continued in Metaphorium.

The demo video sounded so good that I bought it nearly immediately. Of course it doesn't sound nearly as good with me playing, but I'm having a good time regardless.

Went through the Pianoids folder a few times, and love blending them with various other pianos. I suppose that goes in the free bonus category, as it wasn't the expected first result of a synth soundset, but alone is worth the asking price as far as happy usefulness goes. Lucky to have a fine new soundset arrive between vacation and the weekend

Also enjoying the many other categories, the ease of modifying sounds, and then saving them in a dialog with several useful fields, or very simple as desired. As usual, lot of the pads are good leads with just a few envelope adjustments, and sometimes it's good luck to move from mono-lead to a more pad-like poly, if cpu is capable etc.
